ONEONTA, N.Y.—The Hobart soccer team and 25th-ranked Oneonta played to a 1-1 draw in a non-conference contest at Red Dragon Field this afternoon. With the tie, the Statesmen are now 0-1-2 this season and the Red Dragons are now 1-0-2.

Will Slayton scored his first collegiate goal to secure the draw in the final 10 minutes of the game. Junior
Thomas Chyzowych played all 90 minutes in goal for Hobart and made four saves.
Ali Somow notched the goal for Oneonta. AJ Lucas made five saves in 90 minutes of work in goal for the Red Dragons.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Somow opened the scoring in the 63rd minute. He collected a leading pass from Nate Masucci and chipped a shot past a diving Chyzowych.
- Hobart tied the game in the 83rd minute. Slayton split two defenders, dribbled the ball into the 18-yard box and fired a shot just under the crossbar.
MATCH MOMENTS
- The Statesmen controlled the match in the early going. Sophomore La Zai Outerbridge had two shots blocked in the first eight minutes. He also fired a shot wide right during the flurry.
- In the 29th minute, Brian Sheehan nearly gave Hobart a 1-0 lead but Lucas smothered his shot.
- The Statesmen started the second half the same way they started the first. In the 50th minute, Lucas stopped senior Griffin Patterson's shot.
- Just over a minute after Oneonta took the lead, Masucci had a scoring chance turned aside by Chyzowych.
- Cyzowych had to make another key save in the 72nd minute.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hobart dominated the stat sheet finishing with a 22-10 advantage in shots.
- The Statesmen had seven of the game's eight corner kicks.
