HENNIKER, N.H.—Seven different players scored a goal as the William Smith ice hockey team knocked off New England College 8-0 in a New England Hockey Conference contest at Lee Clement Arena this afternoon.

Kayla Ketchabaw had a game-high four points on a goal and three assists to lead the way for William Smith. Senior

Rowan Kennedy (2a) also had multi-point games for the Herons. Senior
Erin Murray played all 60 minutes in goal and made six saves as she earned the shutout.
Kayden Lallier-Whissell played all 60 minutes in goal for the Pilgrims. She made a career-high 55 saves.

- With the win, William Smith is now 6-8-1 overall this season with a 6-3-0 mark in conference play.
- New England College falls to 1-14-0 overall on the year and 0-9-0 in NEHC play.

- The Herons finished the game with a 63-6 advantage in shots on goal. The six shots are the fewest allowed by William Smith since Nov. 17, 2018, when they surrendered six to Lebanon Valley.
- William Smith was 1-for-4 on the power play and New England College was 0-for-2 with the extra skater.
GAME SUMMARY
- The Herons opened the scoring 75 seconds into the game. Valas fired a shot from the point through Lallier-Whissell's legs for her first collegiate goal. Ketchabaw had an assist on the tally.
- Forty-four seconds later, first-year Madeline Diglio snapped a shot past the Pilgrim goalie for her first collegiate goal. Junior Kelly Howe notched an assist on the goal.
- William Smith continued to pile up the pressure in the opening frame, finishing the period with a 24-2 advantage in shots on goal.
- Junior Allie Cimis gave the Herons a 3-0 lead 40 seconds into the second period. Kennedy and first-year Anna Tardiff were awarded assists on the goal. Cimis one-timed a shot from the right faceoff circle past Lallier-Whissel for her second goal of the season.
- Ketchabaw's fourth goal of the season extended the lead to four goals. She blasted home a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle. Kennedy and graduate student Mackenzie O'Neil had assists on the goal.
- Sophomore Colleen Qurik added a power-play goal with five minutes remaining in the middle stanza. First-year Susan Rotherham recorded an assist on the power-play goal.
- William Smith finished the middle stanza with a 19-2 advantage in shots on goal.
- Junior Seneca Urban scored her first William Smith goal at the 4;15 mark of the third period. She wristed a shot from the slot into the upper left corner of the cage. Brianna Felice had an assist on the goal.
- Legler scored the game's final two goals. Her second goal of the season was assisted by Ketchabaw and her third goal was assisted by Ketchabaw and Vallas
- The Herons outshot NEC 20-2 in the third period. William Smith also hit two posts in the final 20 minutes.
CLIMBING THE LADDER
- Tonight's shutout was Murray's fifth of the season. That number is currently second on William Smith's single-season list.
- It was her 10th career shutout. That is second on William Smith's career list, one behind Olivia Williams '20 who had 11 shutouts during her career.
