CANTON, N.Y.—Four different Herons scored a goal as the 22nd-ranked William Smith soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory over St. Lawrence in a Liberty League contest on Sandy MacAllaster Field this afternoon. It was the Herons' sixth straight victory.

- Senior Ruth Hotaling had the first chance 50 seconds into the game. Her shot was turned aside by a diving Davenport.
- Meredith Donahue had the first chance for the Saints, but her shot was smothered by Goerke.
- William Smith opened the scoring on Dwyer's first goal of the year. She lobbed a shot from 30 yards out over Davenport's head and into the back of the net.
- Dwyer nearly added a second goal in the 37th minute, but her shot was stopped by Davenport.
- Maddie Needham had one last chance for the Saints late in the first half, but her attempt was stopped by Goerke.
- The Herons took a 2-0 lead just over a minute into the second half. Bragg redirected a centering pass from junior Charlotte Brown into the back of the net. It was her eighth goal of the season.
- Metzler put the game out of reach in the 58th minute. She ran onto a long through ball from fellow sophomore Lily Pryzwansky, raced down the left wing and ripped a shot into the upper right corner of the cage. It was her second goal of the season.
- Metzler nearly added a second goal ten seconds later, but her shot was turned aside by Davenport.
- At the opposite end of the pitch, Meredith Donahue nearly broke up the shutout bid, but her shot hit the left goal post. Madison King-Thurber's rebound attempt was stopped by Goerke.
- Carney tacked on a fourth goal in the 89th minute. Off a corner kick, she beat her defender and shipped a shot past the St. Lawrence goalie. It was her first collegiate goal.

William Smith will return home on Saturday, Oct. 25, when it welcomes Union to Cozzens Field. The Liberty League contest is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The Herons will recognize their six seniors in a postgame ceremony.
