Hobart concludes fall slate at Challenge on the canal

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart rowing team concluded its fall racing slate at the Challenge on the Canal on Saturday. The Statesmen turned in a strong performance, winning all five of the races they entered.
 
Hobart welcomed Mercyhurst and Rochester Institute of Technology to the Cayuga-Seneca Canal for a day of racing. Small boats competed in the morning, and the varsity eights took to the 4,400-meter course in the afternoon. The rowers experienced overcast weather conditions along with a moderate headwind throughout the race day.

MEN'S DOUBLES
  • Hobart had two doubles, sculled by Bode Lonergan and Holden May, and Álvaro Paulin and Thomas Hoffmann.
  • The Statesmen placed first and second, with their final times separated by under a second.
  • Lonergan and May claimed the win with a time of 17:36.
  • Paulin and Hoffmann finished second with a time of 17:37.
