GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart rowing team concluded its fall racing slate at the Challenge on the Canal on Saturday. The Statesmen turned in a strong performance, winning all five of the races they entered.
 
Hobart welcomed Mercyhurst and Rochester Institute of Technology to the Cayuga-Seneca Canal for a day of racing. Small boats competed in the morning, and the varsity eights took to the 4,400-meter course in the afternoon. The rowers experienced overcast weather conditions along with a moderate headwind throughout the race day.
 
MEN'S PAIRS

• The Statesmen pairs opened up the race for the men in the morning with a 10-boat field.
• The Hobart pairs consisted of James Faulkner and Kiré Richardson, Ryan Agans and Cayden Hill, Carlo Capitanucci and Sam Peeler, Henry McComb and Jayden Dasher, and Indiana Eiger and Ian Selover.
• The Statesmen filled out the podium in the men's pair event, taking first, second, and third. First place was taken by Faulkner and Richardson, finishing with a time of 18:02. They beat Agans and Hill by four seconds.

 
MEN'S DOUBLES

• Hobart had two doubles, sculled by Bode Lonergan and Holden May, and Álvaro Paulin and Thomas Hoffmann.
• The Statesmen placed first and second, with their final times separated by under a second.
• Lonergan and May claimed the win with a time of 17:36.
• Paulin and Hoffmann finished second with a time of 17:37.

 
MEN'S FOURS

• The first varsity four consisted of Sam Hyman, Panagiotis Giannakopoulos, James Feeley IV, Chase Sneddon, and Charles Watroba.
• The second boat was steered by Ellie Dial, Lex Lauer, Alan Marusic, Colin Mester, and Tibor Teleki.
• The fours took on the course during the most prominent headwind of the day, coming home with a first and second-place finish.
• The first varsity four stopped the clock at 16:06 with Hobart's second four coming in second, just six seconds behind.

 
NOVICE EIGHT

• The Novice Eight was driven by Duncan Wolski, Estel Justus, Clement Newbold, Cameron Nixon, Braden Hendrickson, Henry Terrell, Elliot Morris, Colin Gilder, and Liam O'Connor.
• Crossing the line with a time of 15:32, the Hobart boat overtook the opposing RIT boat by over a minute, sealing out the final race of the morning.

 
VARSITY EIGHTS

• The Hobart Varsity Eight was manned by Hyman, Giannakopoulos, Watroba, Lauer, Feeley, Colin Mester, Marusic, Sneddon, and Teleki.
• Facing a challenging headwind, Hobart completed the course with a time of 14:11 in a 27-second win over Mercyhurst.
• Hobart's Second Varsity Eight consisted of Dial, Trevor Beatley, Ryan Agans, James Faulkner, Richardson, Jayden Dasher, Henry McComb, Carlo Capitanucci, and Alexander Peeler.
• The Statesmen finished with a time of 14:51, taking home third.
• The freshman eight was driven by Duncan Wolski, Estus Justus, Clement Newbold, Cameron Nixon, Braden Hendrickson, Thomas Hoffmann, Elliot Morris, Henry Terrell, and Indiana Eiger.
• Powering off the line, they steered a sharp line on the course to a fourth-place finish.
• The Statesmen 3V was composed of Isabel Goldblatt-Hamilton, Owen O'Connor, Bode Lonergan, Liam O'Connor, Paulin, Joey Burvis, Liam Yokanovich, Colin Gilder, and Holden May.
• Hobart's third varsity 8 rounded out the Statesmen afternoon eights, finishing fifth.
