#20 William Smith, RPI play to scoreless draw

Herons clinch No. 2 seed in Liberty League Tournament

TROY, N.Y.—The 20th-ranked William Smith soccer team and Rensselaer battled to a scoreless draw at the Engineers' ECAV Stadium this afternoon. With the draw, the Herons finish the regular season with an 11-2-3 overall record and a 7-1-1 record in Liberty League play.
 
William Smith finished second in the conference standings with 22 points and will be the No. 2 seed in the six-team conference tournament. The Herons will host a semifinal contest on Friday, Nov. 7. William Smith will take on the winner of RIT vs. Union.
 
Junior Antonia Goerke went the distance in goal for the Herons. She made six saves as she collected her eighth shutout of the season.
 
Audrey Montero played all 90 minutes in goal for RPI. She made eight saves. The Engineers conclude their season with an overall record of 6-7-4 and a 2-4-3 mark in conference play.
