POTSDAM, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey defeated Potsdam 6-4 in a SUNYAC contest at Maxcy Ice Rink this evening. With the win, the Statesmen extended their winning streak to 13 games.
Senior
Kahlil Fontana led the Statesmen with three points on a goal and two assists. Junior
Conor Lally (2g) and sophomore
Calum Chau (2a) also had multi-point games for Hobart. Senior
Mavrick Goyer started and played 35 minutes in goal. Sophomore
Connor Shibley came on in relief and made six saves in his collegiate debut.
Three different Potsdam players had multi-point games in the loss. Ryan Mahlmeister led the way with two goals. Lenny Perno started in goal and made 19 saves. Luciano Chinappi played 27 minutes in net and stopped 23 shots.

- Hobart is now 7-0-0 overall this season and is 3-0-0 in conference play.

SCORING SUMMARY
- The Bears opened the scoring just over three minutes into the game. Mahlmeister snapped a shot past Goyer for his fifth goal of the season. Lucas Salas and Samuel De Mauro had assists on the goal.
- Hobart answered 39 seconds later. Fontana pocketed his ninth goal of the season, one-timing a shot past the Potsdam goalie. His goal was assisted by first-year Tommy McDonough.
- Just over a minute later, Easton Ryan fired home his fourth goal of the season. The power-play goal was assisted by Adam Mendelson and Chau.
- Hobart took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission after Tanner Daniels notched his second goal of the season. His goal was assisted by Arvega Hovsepyan and Fontana.
- The Statesmen added to their lead at the 3:35 mark of the second period. Lally ripped a shot from the right faceoff circle into the back of the net. His second goal of the season was assisted by Brandon Sacchetti and Bauer Morrissey.
- Potsdam cut into the deficit with a power-play goal at the eight-minute mark of the middle stanza. Mathieu Parent scored off a feed from Rocco Seery and Jeremy Quesnel.
- Nick Dimatos and Lally scored five minutes apart to extend Hobart's lead to 6-2. Dimatos' goal was unassisted and Lally's second goal of the game was assisted by Chau and Fontana.
- Seventeen seconds after Lally's tally, Max Klanow scored for Potsdam to make it 6-3 after 40 minutes. Klanow's third goal of the season was assisted by Jeremy Quesnel and Parent.
- Mahlmeister scored on a penalty shot in the third quarter. It was his sixth goal of the season.
