CANTON, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team scored twice in the first period as it beat SUNY Canton 4-0 in a SUNYAC contest at the Roos House this afternoon. Four different Statesmen scored as they notched their 14th straight victory.
Hobart's offense was led by
Nick Dimatos (1g, 1a),
Adam Mendelson (1g, 1a) and
Tristan Fasig (1g, 1a).
Easton Ryan (2a) also had a multi-point game for the Statesmen. Senior
Damon Beaver went the distance in goal and stopped all 17 shots he faced as he earned his second consecutive shutout.
Trey Miller played all 60 minutes in goal for the Roos. He made 41 saves.

- With today's win, Hobart improves to 8-0-0 on the season, with a 4-0-0 mark in SUNYAC play.
- The victory extends Hobart's unbeaten streak to 21 games.
- Canton is 4-4-0 overall this season and falls to 0-3-0 in conference play.

- With today's shutout, Beaver now has 21 for his career. Already the Hobart career record holder, he is now second in NCAA Division III history.

- Hobart finished the game with a 45-17 advantage in shots on goal.
- Neither team scored on the power play, with both teams going 0-for-3 with the extra attacker.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Mendelson opened the scoring at the 9:11 mark of the first period. He collected a puck in the right faceoff circle, skated into the slot and ripped a shot past Miller for his second goal of the season. Ryan and Dimatos were awarded assists on the goal.
- Just over a minute later, Chris Duclair doubled Hobart's lead. He broke in on a 2-man rush with Tamas Toth. They played give-and-go entering the offensive zone and Duclair snapped a shot past the goalie for his third tally of the season.
- Dimatos gave Hobart a 3-0 lead at the 6:51 mark of the middle stanza. He stepped into a slapshot and wired a shot from the right faceoff circle past Miller for his third goal of the year. Mendelson and Fasig had assists on the goal.
- Fasig rounded out the scoring in the third period. He redirected a shot from Calum Chau past Miller for his first goal of the season. Ryan also had an assist on the goal.

Hobart will be back in action on December 5 when they are scheduled to take on their SUNYAC travel partner, Oswego. The Lakers are currently ranked seventh in the USCHO.com poll and are tied for first in the conference standings with the Statesmen.
