HERON STAT LEADERS HOW IT HAPPENED

  • William Smith bounced back in the second quarter, outscoring Fredonia 21-17. The Herons found key points from fast break opportunities after causing several Blue Devil turnovers in the second. Giana Lobozzo and Miranda Martin led the Herons with six points each in the second quarter to bring William Smith within one heading into halftime.
  • The Herons continued on their momentum into the third quarter, extending their lead to four in the opening minutes before the Blue Devils answered with 12 more points in the paint to snatch back the lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
  • Fredonia used the late spark to grab back the momentum in the fourth and extended its lead to as much as nine points in the final quarter. William Smith continued to fight, chipping away at the lead but sharp free throw shooting by the Blue Devils would close out the nonconference matchup in favor of Fredonia 62-55.
