BOSTON, Mass.—The William Smith hockey team was defeated by Bowdoin 5-1 in a non-conference contest at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink this evening. The game between teams that were receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll was one of two semifinals at UMass Boston's 2025 Codfish Bowl tournament.
First-year
Lilly Relyea scored her first collegiate goal. Junior
Mia Iwicki played all 60 minutes in goal for the Herons and made 46 saves. It was her second 40-plus save performance in her last three starts.
Meghan Britt led a group of three players who finished the game with two points for the Polar Bears. She had two goals. Luna Lu (1g, 1a) and Bella Mele (2a) also had two-point games.

- Lu opened the scoring at the 4:27 mark of the first period. She collected a pass from Maddie Wojciak and ripped a shot from the right faceoff circle into the upper right corner of the cage.
- Bowdoin controlled the opening frame, earning a 16-5 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Herons tied the game at the 16:10 mark of the second period. Standing on the left post, Relyea banged home a rebound. Her first collegiate goal was assisted by first-years Skyler Toffolo and Finley Crosby.
- Bowdoin broke the game open with a pair of goals 57 seconds apart in the closing stages of the period. Meghan Brit one-timed a centering shot past Iwicki for her fifth goal of the season. Lu had an assist on the tally.
- Molly Cataldo made it 3-1 Bowdoin with her first goal of the year. She snapped a shot from the slot through a screen and across the goal line. Her tally was assisted by Kendrick LaPrade and Sofia Nesboid.
- Bea Palmer gave the Polar Bears a 4-1 lead just under five minutes into the third period. Her first collegiate goal was assisted by Meie and Anyi Sun.
- One minute later, Britt tacked on an insurance goal. Her sixth goal of the season was assisted by Bella Schifano and Sara Ito-Bagshaw.

William Smith will be back at the Edward T. Barry Ice Rink tomorrow, Nov. 30, when it takes on UMass Boston to close out the Codfish Bowl. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
