GENEVA, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team scored twice in the first period and never looked back as it knocked off New England College 3-1 in a New England Hockey Conference contest at The Cooler this afternoon. With the victory, the Statesmen completed the weekend sweep of the Pilgrims.
Sophomore forward
Brandon Sacchetti led the Statesmen with a goal and an assist. Junior
Mavrick Goyer played all 60 minutes in goal. He made 17 saves.
Anthony Beaulieu started in goal for NEC. He made 46 saves.

- Hobart has won 49 straight games at home.
FOR THE RECORD
- The Statesmen are now 22-1-0 overall this season with a 17-1-0 mark in NEHC play. Hobart's 17 wins in conference play are the most in program history.
- The Pilgrims fall to 9-13-1 overall with an 8-9-1 mark in conference play.

- Hobart finished the game with a 49-18 advantage in shots on goal, including a 14-1 edge in the third period.
- Both teams were 1-for-3 on the power play.
SCORING SUMMARY
- The Statesmen opened the scoring at the 6:33 mark of the first period. Crashing the net, Sacchetti banged home a rebound for his fourth goal of the season. It was assisted by first-year Tamas Toth and senior Cooper Swift.
- Junior Tristan Fasig gave Hobart a 2-0 lead with 12 seconds remaining in the opening frame. He collected a rebound in the right faceoff circle and wristed it past Beaulieu for his fourth goal of the season. First-years Ryan Remick and Heikki Virtanen had assists on the goal.
- Sophomore Chris Duclair made it a three-goal game at the 7:13 mark of the second period. He snapped a shot from the high slot over the goalie's glove. It was his 11th goal of the season. The power-play goal was assisted by Sacchetti and sophomore Bauer Morrissey.
- Two minutes later, Gunnar Sibley broke up the shutout bid. His seventh goal of the season was assisted by Jesper Takiainen and Andrew Ralston. It was a power-play goal.

Hobart will be back in action next weekend, Feb. 21-22, when it heads to Babson Park, Massachusetts to conclude the regular season against Babson.
