CLEVELAND, OH – The Hobart tennis team concluded its weekend at the Ohio Invitational with a 4-0 loss to No. 17 Kenyon this morning at LaTuchie Tennis Center. With the loss, the Statesmen fall to 4-7 on the season, while the Owls move to 13-2 overall.
In doubles play, senior Nick Grosso and junior Nick Fischer earned a hard-fought 7-5 victory at No. 2, defeating Jay Dixit and Rohan Sriram. However, Kenyon claimed wins in the other two doubles matches, securing the doubles point.
In singles, Kenyon won three matches to clinch the overall victory, leaving the remaining matches unfinished. Before the match was clinched, Fischer put up a fight in the No. 2 singles spot and was tied with Rishil Kondapaneni 6-6.
After dropping the first set 6-0 to Eric Zheng, Grosso responded well and was up 4-3 in the No. 3 spot before ending the match early.

Hobart will return to action for a midweek matchup against the University of Rochester on Thursday, April 3. First serve between the Statesmen and the Yellowjackets is set for 4 p.m. at the HWS Tennis Center.
