ANNAPOLIS, MD.—The Hobart and William Smith sailing team was in action this weekend, April 5-6, competing for the Prosser Trophy. HWS finished sixth overall in the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Team Race Championship.
ABOUT THE REGATTA
- Day One of the Prosser Trophy saw a light southeasterly that surged in and out over the course of the day ranging from zero to eight knots. Twenty seven races were contested on Saturday.
- Day Two saw zero wind as the team's arrived forcing the regatta to postpone ashore until 11:30. Racing began at noon in a shifty northerly ranging from three to nine knots. Two thirds of the races in Round Robin 2 were completed before the wind shifted and it was determed there was not enough time to complete the second full round robin.
- Navy won the conference championship and a berth in the Team Race National Championship with a 7-0 record.
