Eight members of the William Smith rowing team were named 2024-25 Scholar-Athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. This year represents the most Scholar-Athletes in one season by the Herons since they had nine in 2013.
Â
The CRCA recognized more than 1,000 student-athletes who maintained the highest standards of excellence in the classroom and athletic performance across all three NCAA divisions. To earn Scholar-Athlete recognition, must have completed their second, third, fourth or fifth year of eligibility and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher while competing in an NCAA eligible boat.
Â
The following Herons were among this year's honorees.
Â
"These scholar-athletes exemplify the discipline, work ethic, and the give and take it takes to succeed at the highest level," said Marnie Stahl, CRCA executive director. "Their achievements reflect the best of collegiate athletics."
Â
William Smith finished second in the varsity eight race and won the second varsity eight race at the 2025 Liberty League Championships. The Herons won the petite finals in both the 1V and 2V at the National Invitational Rowing Championships a week later.
