GENEVA, N.Y.—The 25th-ranked Hobart soccer team and Rochester Institute of Technology played to a 1-1 draw in a Liberty League contest on Cozzens Field this afternoon. With today's tie, the Statesmen are now 6-0-2 overall this season with a 1-0-1 mark in conference play.

Quinn Phillips scored for Hobart. Sophomore
Jake Hans started in goal and made a career-high four saves.
Roman Mironenko scored for the Tigers (4-2-1, 0-1-1). Kristian Bobbek played all 90 minutes in goal and made five saves.
FOR THE RECORD
- At 6-0-2, Hobart continues its best start to the season since 2011. The Statesmen went 7-1-0 in their first eight games that season.
KEY STATS
- In an evenly played match, Hobart finished the contest with a 15-12 advantage in shots, including a 6-5 margin in shots on goal.
- The Statesmen had three corner kicks and RIT had two.
MATCH MOMENTS
- La Zai Outerbridge had the first scoring opportunity of the game. In the 13th minute, he fired a shot from just outside the 18-yard box that just missed the right goal post.
- Sophomore Brady Leitner nearly broke the deadlock in the 21st minute. His shot was smothered by Bobbek.
- In the 24th minute, Joe Pariano had a free kick attempt stopped by Bobbek.
- Phillips had the first two opportunities for Hobart right out of the halftime break. He had a shot blocked over the end line for a corner kick. On the ensuing play, Phillips' shot was stopped by a diving Bobbek.
- Less than a minute later at the opposite end of the field, Hans made a spectacular diving stop on Idriss Diallo.
- The Tigers broke the deadlock in the 71st minute. Mironenko collected his own rebound and slipped a shot past Hans.
- Hobart tied the game in the 78th minute. After Leitner was hauled down in the 18-yard box, Phillips buried a penalty kick attempt into the lower left corner of the cage. It was his first goal of the season.
- Leitner had a chance to give Hobart a 2-1 lead seconds later, but after beating the goalie, he was unable to control a bouncing ball in the 18-yard box.
- In the 85th minute, Phillips was robbed of a second goal by a diving Bobbek.

Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 27, when it heads to Bard to begin a three-game road trip. The Liberty League contest in Annandale-on-Hudson is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
