CANTON, N.Y.—Hobart junior Dorian Paki scored a career and game-high 22 points, but the Statesmen came up just short at St. Lawrence this afternoon. The Saints held on for a 60-57 Liberty League win in Burkman Gymnasium.

Paki was 8-of-14 from the floor and 6-of-12 from the line while also grabbing seven rebounds. Junior Alex Moesch also hit double digits, finishing with 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore Allen Mordi added eight points and seven boards.

St. Lawrence put three players in double figures. Adam Dudzinski recorded a double-double on 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Dan Anderson had 12 points and Jlin Brown posted 11 points.

GAME RECAP
First Half: St. Lawrence 34, Hobart 26
  • The Saints grabbed the early momentum, building a 13-6 lead in the first six minutes.
  • The Statesmen got within three when Paki threw down a contested dunk with eight and a half minutes left in the half.
  • However, SLU scored the next six points and finished the half on an 11-6 run to carry an eight-point advantage into the locker room.

Second Half: St. Lawrence 60, Hobart 57
  • The teams played the first 15 minutes of the second half to a virtual stalemate. The Statesmen still trailed by six as the game clock ticked under five minutes.
  • Moesch drilled a 3-pointer to make it a 53-49 game. Both teams went scoreless over the next two minutes before Paki made it a one-point game on an old fashion 3-point play.
  • Hobart tied the game at 56 on a Mordi layup with 47 seconds remaining.
  • Dudzinski gave his team the lead with a layup 25 seconds later.
  • Mordi was fouled with nine seconds to go. He missed the first, but made the second to make it a one-point game.
  • Hobart quickly fouled, sending Dudzinski to the stripe with seven seconds left. He too missed the first and made the second, leaving the door open for the Statesmen.
  • Moesch raced down the middle of the floor and went straight to the rim. His layup attempt hung for an agonizing amount of time on the rim, before falling out.
  • The Saints made another free throw to complete the scoring with 0.5 seconds remaining.
