TRUXTON, N.Y.—The William Smith Alpine skiing team raced to a second-place finish in the slalom on week two of USCSA action on Labrador Mountain over the weekend. Sunday's giant slalom race was canceled due to the winter storm. William Smith remains in second place in the USCSA Mideast Conference standings with six points.
In Saturday's slalom race, which included 62 racers, William Smith produced four top 20 finishers for a combined team race time of 4:48.10. For the second straight week, first-year
Aspen Mcauley raced to a first-place finish, earning her third win of the season. She crossed the finish line at 1:29.62 to secure the win. Senior
Kate Broderick added an eighth-place finish, stopping the clock at 1:37.58, while sophomore
Mia Crivelli crossed the finish line at 1:40.90 to secure 12th place. Senior
Julia Bragg rounded out the top four Heron finishers in 20th place with a time of 1:49.64.

The Herons will be back in action next weekend for week three of USCSA action. The weekend will kick off with the giant slalom on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 9 a.m. on Bristol Mountain. Sunday's slalom races will be the following day at 9 a.m.
