MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team cruised to a 7-0 victory over Middlebury in a non-conference contest at Chip Kenyon Arena this afternoon. The Statesmen scored three goals in the first period and never looked back as they notched their 12th win of the season.
First-year
Adam Ondris led the way for Hobart, recording three points on two goals and an assist. Junior
Conor Lally and sophomore
Josh Doolan also had multi-goal games for the Statesmen. Senior
Damon Beaver played all 60 minutes in goal and made 17 saves as he recorded his third shutout of the year.
Andrew Heinze started in goal for the Panthers and made 29 saves in just over 47 minutes of work. Conor Sullivan came on in relief and made nine saves in the final 13 minutes.
STREAKING
- With this afternoon's victory, The Statesmen picked up its 18th straight victory and extended its unbeaten streak to 25 games.
FOR THE RECORD
- Hobart is now 12-0-0 to start the season. This is the second straight year and third time in the last four seasons that Hobart has won its first 12 games of the season.
- Middlebury falls to 4-3-2 overall on the year.

SCORING SUMMARY
- The Statesmen opened the scoring at the 11:56 mark of the first period. Lally skated down the right wing and snapped a wrist shot past Heinze. His sixth goal of the season was assisted by first-year Tommy McDonough and sophomore Adam Mendelson.
- Eighty seconds later, Doolan notched his first goal of the season. He one-timed a pass from senior Kahlil Fontana past the Middlebury goalie. Sophomore Arvega Hovsepyan also had an assist on the tally.
- Three minutes later, Doolan scored again. His second goal of the game was assisted by Ondris and first-year Laurent Trepanier.
- Hobart took a 4-0 lead at the 3:20 mark of the second period. Ondris blasted a shot from the top of the right faceoff circle past Heinze. His second goal of the year was assisted by senior Tanner Daniels and Fontana.
- Ten minutes later, junior Chris Duclair made it 5-0. Sophomores Tamas Toth and Calum Chau had helpers on Duclair's sixth goal of the year.
- Ondris and Lally tacked on insurance goals in the third period.
- Ondris' second goal of the game and third of the season came just under four minutes into the final frame. His tally was assisted by sophomore Nick Dimatos and Trepanier.
- Four minutes later, Lally notched a power-play goal, burying a shot from point. His seventh goal of the year was assisted by McDonough and senior Ignat Belov.
CLIMBING THE LADDER
- With today's shutout, Beaver now has 22 for his career. Already the Hobart career record holder, he is second in NCAA Division III history.
- Senior Tanner Daniels became the 28th player in program history to play in his 100th career game. The forward had an assist in the game and has 93 career points (38-55).

Hobart will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 9, when it returns home to take on Cortland at 7 p.m. It begins a stretch of 13 straight SUNYAC games to close out the regular season for the Statesmen.
