GENEVA, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team scored four goals in the first period and never looked back as they knocked off Potsdam 7-0 in a SUNYAC contest at The Cooler this evening. The Statesmen are the first team to reach the 20-win mark this season.

Mavrick Goyer started in goal and stopped all 17 shots he faced as he earned his second consecutive shutout.
Lenny Perno started in goal for Hobart and made 25 saves in the first period. Luciano Chinappi played the final 40 minutes in goal and made 31 saves.
STREAKING
- Today's victory extended Hobart's winning streak to 26 games and its unbeaten streak to 33 games.
- The Statesmen have won 62 straight games on their home ice.

- Hobart is now 20-0-0 this season with a 13-0-0 mark in SUNYAC play. This is Hobart's seventh straight 20-win season.

SCORING SUMMARY
- Hobart opened the scoring at the 4:06 mark of the first period. Standing on the left goal post, Hovsepyan collected a loose puck and flipped a shot over Perno. His 10th goal of the season was assisted by first-year Tommy McDonough and senior Kahlil Fontana.
- Four minutes later, Daniels notched his first goal of the game. He batted a crossing pass from Bauer Morrissey out of mid-air and into the back of the net. Hovsepyan also had an assist on Daniels' 11th goal of the year.
- Remick scored the game's next two goals to make it 4-0 after 20 minutes. At the 15:43 mark of the first period, he collected a drop pass from Fasig behind the goal and tucked a shot past Perno. It was his first goal of the season. Calum Chau also had an assist on the tally.
- Four minutes later, Remick picked up a puck in the slot and tucked a backhanded shot past the goalie. Fasig and Adam Mendelson had assists on the tally.
- Daniels made it a five-goal game. Standing on the back post, he redirected a shot from Chau past Chinappi. Nick Dimatos also had an assist on the goal.
- Fasig's fifth goal of the season gave Hobart a six-goal lead. Standing in the slot, he tipped a shot from Dimatos across the goal line.
- Senior Dominic Schimizzi rounded out the scoring with his fourth goal of the season. The power-play goal was assisted by Connor Elliott and Chris Duclair.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hobart finished the game with a 63-17 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Statesmen were 1-for-4 on the power play and Potsdam was 0-for-3 with the extra attacker.
