GENEVA, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team scored two goals in the first period and never looked back as it defeated sixth-ranked Oswego 6-1 in a SUNYAC contest at The Cooler this evening. With the win, the Statesmen extended their home winning streak to 63 games, matching the collegiate hockey record held by Cornell since 1972.

Kahlil Fontana and sophomore
Easton Ryan scored two goals each in the victory. Senior
Tanner Daniels led the Statesmen with three points on a goal and two assists. Senior
Damon Beaver started in goal and made 16 saves as he notched his 14th win of the season.
Josh Simpson scored for the Lakers. Brandon Milberg and Michael Manzi split time in goal. They combined to make 37 saves.
STREAKING
- In addition to extending its home win streak, Hobart has extended its overall winning streak to 27 games and its unbeaten streak to 34 games.
- Cornell's record streak lasted from Jan. 14, 1967 – Jan. 29, 1972.

- Hobart improved to 21-0-0 on the season with a 14-0-0 mark in SUNYAC play.
- Oswego falls to 14-4-2 overall with an 11-3-0 mark in conference play.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Hobart opened the scoring at the 13:45 mark of the first period. Fontana redirected a centering pass from Arvega Hovsepyan past Milberg for his 16th goal of the season. Daniels had an assist on the goal.
- Four minutes later, Daniels fired home a one-timer from the right faceoff circle for his 12th goal of the season. The power-play goal was assisted by juniors Bauer Morrissey and Conor Lally.
- Ryan gave the Statesmen a three-goal lead 53 seconds into the second period. He redirected a shot from senior Dominic Schimizzi past Millberg for his 14th goal of the season. Calum Chau also had an assist on the power-play goal.
- Oswego broke up the shutout bid at the 1:35 mark of the middle stanza. Simpson collected a rebound and flipped a shot past Beaver for his fifth goal of the season. Aidan Cooper and Matt McQuade had assists on the tally.
- Fontana notched his second goal of the game just past the six-minute mark of the second period. He collected a pass from Hovsepyan and flipped a backhanded shot past Millberg. Daniels also had an assist on Fontana's 17th goal of the season.
- One minute later, Schimizzi made it 5-1. He collected a pass from Lally in the left faceoff circle and wristed home his fifth goal of the year. Chris Duclair also had an assist on the goal.
- Ryan rounded out the scoring at the 16:15 mark of the second period. His 15th goal of the season was assisted by Adam Mendelson and Nick Dimatos.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hobart finished the game with a 43-17 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Statesmen were 2-for-5 on the power play and Oswego was 0-for-3 on the man advantage.
