GENEVA, N.Y.—Junior
Mia Iwicki stopped all 25 shots she faced as the William Smith ice hockey team knocked off Buffalo State 3-0 in a SUNYAC contest at The Cooler this afternoon. With the win, the Herons completed the series sweep of the Bengals.

Madeline Diglio led the Herons' offense with a goal and an assist. First-year
Lilly Relyea and sophomore
Ainsley Lonczak also scored. Iwicki's seventh win was her third shutout of the season.
Alexa Todd played all 60 minutes in goal and made 30 saves.

- William Smith is now 10-11-0 with a 6-4-0 record in conference play.
- The Bengals are 11-9-1, including a 3-7-0 mark in SUNYAC games.

SCORING SUMMARY
- William Smith opened the scoring at the 17:19 mark of the second period. Relyea collected a pass in the left faceoff circle and snapped a shot past Todd's glove. Her second goal of the season was assisted by sophomore Bella Hacker and Diglio.
- The Herons extended their lead to two goals 93 seconds into the third period, when Diglio notched her third goal of the season. Buffalo State's Gracie Zwolak won a faceoff, but Diglio intercepted the back pass and snapped a shot past the Buffalo State goalie.
- Lonczak put the game out of reach with her fourth goal of the season. She collected a rebound in the right faceoff circle and stuffed the loose puck across the goal line. The tally was assisted by Madison Twombly and Colleen Quirk.
MATCH MOMENTS
- The Herons killed off four power plays in the third period, helping Iwicki preserve the shutout.
- In addition to Iwicki's 11 saves in the final stanza, the Herons had 10 blocked shots.
- For the game, William Smith blocked 20 shots. Relyea and Abigail Schum led the way with four blocked shots each.
