CORTLAND, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team held on to beat Cortland 4-3 in a tightly contested SUNYAC game at Cortland's Alumni Arena this evening.

Kahlil Fontana led the Statesmen, recording a goal and an assist in the second period. Juniors

Adam Ondris also scored for the Statesmen. Senior
Damon Beaver stopped 22 shots as he picked up his 15th win of the season.
Garrett Krieger (1g, 1a) and Morley Phillips (1g, 1a) led the way for Cortland with two points each. Nolan Suggs played 59 minutes in goal and made 26 saves.
STREAKING
- With tonight's victory, Hobart extended its winning streak to 29 games and its unbeaten streak to 36 games. Both streaks are the second-longest streaks in program history.
- The Statesmen have won 14 straight games on the road.

- Hobart finished the game with a 30-25 edge in shots on goal.
- The Statesmen were 1-for-4 on the power play and Cortland was 1-for-2 with the man advantage.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Hobart opened the scoring at the 14:17 mark of the first period. Duclair collected a rebound and stuffed home his ninth goal of the season. Sophomore Josh Doolan had an assist on the goal.
- Fontana extended Hobart's lead to two goals just over two minutes into the second period. He snapped a shot from the left faceoff circle past Suggs for his team-leading 18th goal of the season. Arvega Hovsepyan and Tanner Daniels had assists on the tally.
- Three minutes later, Lally gave the Statesmen a 3-0 lead. He fired home a shot from the point through traffic for his 12th goal of the season. Junior Bauer Morrissey and Fontana had assists on the power-play goal.
- With four minutes remaining in the middle stanza, Ondris scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal. Skating into the slot, he slipped a shot past Suggs for his fifth goal of the season. Fellow first-year Laurent Trepanier had an assist on the goal.
- Krieger started Cortland's comeback attempt just over two minutes into the third period. His eighth goal of the season was assisted by Nate Boak.
- Two minutes later, Morley Phillips pocketed his fifth goal of the season. Krieger was awarded an assist on the goal.
- Sam Christiano made it interesting, scoring a power-play goal with just over five minutes in regulation to make it 4-3. His ninth goal of the year was assisted by Colby Seitz and Phillips. That would be as close as the Red Dragons would get.
CLIMBING THE LADDER
- Beaver's 15 wins this season are tied for fifth on Hobart's single-season list with Nick Broadwater '13, who had 15 wins during his senior year. Beaver holds the record, recording 18 wins in each of his first two seasons.
- Beaver's 68 career wins are tied for seventh most in NCAA Division III history.
- With one assist today, Hovsepyan now has 27 on the season. That is tied for seventh on Hobart's single-season list with Travis Finkle '00 who had 27 during the 1999-00 season.
