LANCASTER, Pa.—The Hobart baseball team split a doubleheader against Franklin & Marshall this afternoon at Penn Medicine Park, falling in the first game 3-0 before bouncing back with a commanding 12-0 victory in Game 2.
GAME 1: Franklin & Marshall 3, Hobart 0
In the first game, the Statesmen managed seven hits but left seven runners stranded, while the Diplomats recorded 13 hits, including three doubles. Franklin & Marshall took an early lead in the first inning when Nick Digiacomo's single and stolen base allowed Michael von Zuben to drive him home with a single up the middle. They extended their lead in the third with another run, as Digiacomo scored on Nick Lorenzo's single, making it 2-0. In the fifth inning, Matt Hollender doubled and was brought home by Zac Fuscaldo's single for a 3-0 lead.

Connor Schmiedlin each had two hits, but Hobart wasn't able to bring any runners around to score. Senior
Teck Nash pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on 10 hits, with one walk and two strikeouts.
GAME 2: Hobart 12, Franklin & Marshall 0
In the second game, the Statesmen dominated the Diplomats, breaking open a close game with a 10-run explosion in the eighth inning to seal a 12-0 victory. First-year
Jack O'Neil sparked the offense with a leadoff triple in the fourth inning, followed by
Sean Garvin's walk and a fielder's choice that allowed O'Neil to score, making it 1-0. Garvin extended the lead in the sixth with a solo home run, his second of the season, bringing the score to 2-0.
The eighth inning was a showcase of Hobart's offensive prowess.
Isaiah Pinto started with a single and two stolen bases, scoring on a Garvin double. Schmiedlin's double brought in Garvin and O'Neil, followed by a single from
Jack Gangemi that added another run.
Nate Garrett reached on an error, allowing two more to score, while Pinto doubled again, driving in two more runs. Two more Statesmen runs scored on F&M errors before the Diplomats got out of the inning, trailing 12-0.
Trevor Kimball was stellar on the mound, pitching six innings of two-hit ball. First-year

Chris Lockwood and senior
Alex Marancik closed out the game, with Dunham striking out three.
Sean Garvin led the offense with two hits, including a home run and a double, driving in two runs. O'Neil had a triple and scored twice, while Pinto impressed with two hits and three stolen bases.
