MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The Hobart baseball team ran its winning streak to five games with a doubleheader sweep of Mount Aloysius on Griffith Field at The Ripken Experience, securing a thrilling 7–6 come-from-behind win in Game 1, followed by a commanding 13-3 victory in the Game 2.
GAME 1: Hobart 7, Mt. Aloysius 6
In the opener, Hobart faced an early challenge as Mt. Aloysius jumped out to a 5–0 lead in the first inning. Hobart responded quickly, scoring four times in the bottom half of the inning. With runners on second and third and no one out, first-year

Connor Schmiedlin's two-run single pulled the Statesmen within one 5-4.
Mt. Aloysius pushed its lead to 6–4 with another run in the second. However, Davenport came through in the fourth inning with a two-run single, leveling the game at 6–6. The score remained locked through the fifth inning until Hobart seized control in the bottom of the sixth. Byrnes singled and advanced to third on a Garvin single. With one out, Dashefsky laid down a perfect bunt single to bring Byrnes home for a 7–6 lead. Junior
Charlie Forrest retired the Mounties in order in the seventh to secure the victory.
On the mound for Hobart, Forrest delivered a stellar performance with five scoreless relief innings, giving up only two hits and striking out three batters. He picked up his second win of the season. Davenport delivered three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Dashefsky and Schmiedlin added two RBIs apiece.

GAME 2: Hobart 13, Mount Aloysius 3
In the second game, Hobart racked up a season-high 15 hits, including two doubles, and swiped four bases. The Statesmen (11-5) set the tone early, scoring three runs in the first inning. Senior

Cole Conte drove in runs before the game was three outs old. The Mounties (5-7) responded with three runs in the bottom of the second to tie the game, but the knot didn't last.
Hobart reclaimed the lead in the third when Petry scored on a passed ball, and Conte's two-run single pushed the Statesmen ahead 6-3. The offense continued to sizzle in the fourth, with Garvin's two-run double and
Connor O'Neil's RBI single highlighting the five-run inning that widened the gap to 11-3.
Hobart tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Jones led the offense with three hits, two RBIs and three runs scored. Petry, Garvin, Conte and first-year
Payton Johnson delivered two hits. Garvin and Johnson both doubled. Conte had a team-high four RBIs. On the mound, the Hobart bullpen combined for six scoreless innings while striking out six. Junior
