GENEVA, N.Y.—The 18th-ranked Saint Joseph's Hawks defeated Hobart 17-7 at Urick Stadium this afternoon. The Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead five minutes into the game and never looked back.

Connor DiTomasso had two goals each. Senior
Seamus Schofield won eight faceoffs and had a game-high seven ground balls. Three Statesmen had caused turnovers in the game, including first-year
Colman Craft, who added three ground balls and an assist. First-year
Michael Johnson started in goal and made eight saves. Sophomore
Brady Smith played the final 21 minutes and made three saves. Johnson was second on the team with four ground balls.
Griffin Mallory had a game-high seven points for Saint Joseph's, recording two goals and five assists. Ben Dutton had four goals and two ground balls. In total, five Hawks had multi-point games. Conor Trant won eight faceoffs and had six ground balls. Tommy Gross played all 60 minutes in goal and made nine saves.

- The Statesmen fall to 2-6 and 0-1 in Atlantic 10 play.
- The Hawks improved to 5-2 on the year with a 2-0 mark in league play.

- Saint Joseph's outshot the Statesmen 51-32. And finished with a 34-24 edge in ground balls.
- The Hawks also won the battle at the faceoff x 15-10.
- Hobart was 13-for-16 clearing the ball, and Saint Joseph's was 14-for-16 on its clear attempts.
FIRST QUARTER
- Saint Joseph's led 4-1 after the first 15 minutes of the game.
- Colby Wood opened the scoring 40 seconds into the contest. His eighth goal of the season was unassisted. Thirty-one seconds later, Dutton made it 2-0 with his first of the game.
- Carter Truesdell and Trae Ika added goals to extend the lead to 4-0 five minutes into the game. Collin Campbell had assists on both tallies
- DiTomasso momentarily broke up the run with his 11th goal of the season.
- Neither team would score for the rest of the first stanza.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Hawks rattled off four of the next five goals to take an 8-2 lead with 6:34 left in the half.
- Wood, Jack Fiordalis, and Dutton scored twice during the run. Dutton's second goal of the game came while playing a player down. He then completed his hat trick to make it a six-goal game.
- Colden Swisher and Slade Engstrom had unassisted goals for Hobart to make it 8-3 going into the halftime break.
THIRD QUARTER
- Saint Joseph's exploded for seven goals in the third quarter and put the game out of reach as they led 15-5 after 40 minutes.
- Peterkin had, and DiTomasso had the Hobart goals in the frame. Peterkin's 11th goal of the year was assisted by Craft, and DiTomasso's goal was assisted by Peterkin.
- Six different Hawks scored in the frame.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Hobart opened the frame with a mini two-goal run. Max Snellenburg notched his fourth goal of the year on a feed from Peterkin, and Engstrom added an unassisted goal, his fifth of the year.
- Campbell and Joey Papa rounded out the scoring for Saint Joseph's
