Taryn Luzi scored six goals to lead the eighth-ranked William Smith lacrosse team to a 19-6 victory over Vassar in a Liberty League contest inside the Poole Family Dome this afternoon.

Casey Fiore played all 60 minutes in goal and made five saves.
Three Brewers had three points in the game. Maddie Kaltsas (1g, 1a), Elizabeth Burgess (2g) and Tess Billings (1g, 1a) shared team-high honors. Billings and Kaltsas had four draw controls each for the Brewers. Emily Kallman had two caused turnovers. Maddie Busam started in goal and made 10 saves in just over 37 minutes. Cassidy Schucarhat came on in relief and made four saves.

- William Smith is now 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in Liberty League play.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- William Smith finished the game with a 48-13 advantage in shots on and a 21-11 advantage in ground balls.
- The Herons also had a 17-10 edge in draw controls. William Smith was 17-for-18 clearing the ball, and Vassar was 12-for-17 on its clear attempts.
FIRST HALF
- The opening 15 minutes of the game were back and forth with the teams trading chances.
- Luzi opened the scoring at the 13:39 mark. She cut around a defender and fired a shot past the Vassar goalie.
- Vassar tied the game two minutes later, when Elizabeth Burgess scored her first of the day.
- With 10:52 left in the frame, Cassidy pocketed her first goal of the game to give William Smith a 2-1 lead. She buried a free position attempt.
- The Brewers scored the next two goals to take a 3-2 lead with 8:49 left in the quarter. Sienna Wong and Billings had the goals. Wong's goal was assisted by Sigrid Fredlund and Billings' tally was set up by Maddie Kaltsas. It was Vassar's lone lead of the day.
- William Smith rattled off three straight goals in a five-minute span to take control of the game. Cassidy scored her second goal of the game, firing home a feed from junior Kira Fulton. Two minutes later, Colvin pocketed her first of the game off a pass from Grottenthaler. Collins rounded out the run, converting on a pass from junior Mia Falco. Cassidy and Colvin's goals came a woman up.
- Maddie Kaltsas tacked on a goal for Vassar with 15 seconds left in the opening half, but that would be as close as the Brewers would get.
- The Herons outscored Vassar 4-1 in the second quarter to take a 9-5 lead after 30 minutes.
- Luzi scored three times in the frame, including a pair of woman-up goals. Cassidy set up two of the goals and Falco set up the other.
- Falco also had a free position goal in the frame.
SECOND HALF
- The Herons pulled away from Vassar in the second half, scoring 10 of the 11 goals in the final 30 minutes of the game.
- Eight of the goals came in the third quarter. Falco started the run in the third quarter, pocketing an unassisted woaman-up goal. Two minutes later, first-year Charlotte Crocker tacked on an unassisted tally. Luzi and Colvin also scored unassisted goals to make it 13-5 with 9:59 left in the third quarter.
- Orquiola and Collins scored free position goals 90 seconds apart, giving the Herons a 15-5 lead with 6:25 left in the stanza.
- Burgess momentarily interrupted William Smith's run. She collected a pass from Billings and dunked a shot past Fiore.
- Grottenthaler and Luzi responded with goals of their own to make it 17-6 after 45 minutes.
- Collins and Colvin completed their hat tricks in the fourth quarter. Collins' tally was assisted by Colvin and Colvin's goal was set up after a caused turnover and ground ball by Sypeck.
STREAKING
- With an assist today, Fulton extended her point streak to 23 games. She also has had at least one point in 26 of her last 27 appearances.

William Smith will be back in action on Wednesday, April 1, when it begins a five-game road trip at Rochester Institute of Technology. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
