Herons host Rangers for nonconference match Saturday

The William Smith tennis team continues its spring season this Saturday, March 7, as it welcomes Drew to Bristol Field House for a nonconference match. First serve between the Herons and the Rangers is set for 1 p.m.

ABOUT THE HERONS:
  • Last weekend, William Smith opened up the Head Coach Emme Levenson era with a 7-0 win over SUNY Oneonta to kick off the spring season. Junior Grace Magna was named to the Liberty League weekly honor roll for her performance in the win.
  • Junior Mae Kellersman leads the Herons in singles play after defeating Oneonta's Haley Peck 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 1 position.
  • Magna defeated Taylor Plue 6-0, 6-1 last weekend in the No. 2 spot.
  • Magna and senior Haley Levine lead William Smith in doubles play after defeating Peck and Plue 6-4 in the No. 1 position.
  • Seniors Marin Montagne and Maddy Buck defeated Dakota Jimenez and Ashley Glaviano 6-1 in the No. 2 spot.
ABOUT THE RANGERS:
  • Drew enters the weekend with a 1-4 overall record and is coming off 7-0 losses to Dickinson and TCNJ on Feb. 15.
  • Riley Roesel leads the Rangers in singles play with a 1-2 record in the No. 1 spot.
  • Kapriana Payami is 1-1 at No. 4.
  • In doubles play, Payami and Danielle Pettoni lead Drew with a 1-1 record in the No. 2 position.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING:
  • This will be the first matchup in program history between William Smith and Drew.
