For the first time in her career, junior Mae Kellersman of the William Smith tennis team was named the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week after the Herons defeated Drew 7-0 on Saturday. Additionally, Kellersman joined doubles partner, sophomore Bethany Walker, on the Weekly Honor Roll after an impressive showing over the weekend.
 
In the Herons' win over the Rangers, Kellersman shined in the No. 1 singles position, defeating Riley Roesel 6-0, 6-1. The dominant win was her second straight victory in the No. 1 spot to open the spring season. Kellersman is now 5-4 in singles play this season.
 
Kellersman joined Walker in doubles play to help William Smith secure the doubles point. The Heron duo defeated Roesel and Nicole Kalorin 6-1 in the No. 2 spot, securing their first dual match doubles win of the season.
 
William Smith will be back in action Sunday, March 15, when it takes on St. Norbert and Bethel to open its spring break trip in Orlando, Florida.
