Herons conclude regular season against Geneseo Saturday

The William Smith tennis team will be back in action as it closes out its regular season with a non-conference match against SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, April 25. First serve between the Herons and the Knights is set for noon in Bristol Field House.

ABOUT THE HERONS:
  • William Smith enters the weekend with a 7-10 record.
  • In singles play, senior Haley Levine leads the Herons with an 8-8 dual match record, primarily playing in the No. 2 spot. Junior Grace Magna is also 8-8 in dual matches, playing in the No. 3 spot.
  • First-year Katie Hardy and sophomore Mia Jacobs both add 7-9 records in dual match play this season. Hardy plays in the No. 6 spot, while Jacobs plays in the No. 5 position.
  • Junior Mae Kellersman and sophomore Bethany Walker lead William Smith in doubles play with an 8-8 record in the No. 2 spot. Levine and Magna are 7-10 at No. 1.
  • Seniors Marin Montagne and Maddy Buck are 4-5 in the No. 3 spot.
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS:
  • Geneseo is 9-5 and will host New Paltz on Friday before heading to Geneva.
  • Natalie Pipes leads the Knights with a 10-3 record at No. 1 singles. Lauren Levatino is also 10-3, primarily playing in the No. 6 spot.
  • In doubles play, JoAnn Catalano and Pipes hold a 3-2 record in the No.1 spot while Samantha Rava and Rachel Molloy are 4-3 in the No. 2 position.
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Saturday marks the 21st meeting between William Smith and Geneseo. The Herons hold a 19-1 advantage in the series, including a 11-1 record in Geneva.
  • Last time they met, William Smith defeated Geneseo 7-0 in Geneva on April 15, 2025.
