The William Smith bowling team was recently honored by the National Tenpin Coaches Association for its outstanding academic performance. The Herons were one of 60 teams presented with the NTCA All-Academic Scholar Team Award, while five William Smith bowlers were named All-Academic Scholar-Athletes.

To qualify for the team award, programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher during the academic year. Individual student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.4 GPA during the academic year.

As a team, William Smith had a 3.439 team GPA, 36th in the nation. The Herons were one of three Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference teams to earn the award.

- Caitlyn Anschutz, senior, child advocacy and educational studies
- Colleen Jump, junior, mathematics and music
- Sarah Shoobe, sophomore, mathematics and educational studies
- Tiana Wolkiewicz, junior, religious studies
- Natalie Yale, first-year, undeclared

Jump has earned the distinction following each of her three seasons. Shoobe and Wolkiewicz are two-time honorees.

William Smith was 52-32 this season. The Herons broke the program record for wins in a season and finished third in the AMCC Championship.
