GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart and William Smith Athletics announced today that William Smith Tennis Head Coach Emme Levenson has resigned to accept a coaching position in her native Virginia, closer to family. Hobart Head Coach Tim Riskie will lead both the Statesmen and Herons on an interim basis this fall while HWS conducts a national search for the next head coach of William Smith tennis.
 
"We are grateful to Emme for the energy and care she invested in William Smith Tennis," said Deputy Director of Athletics Liz Dennison. "In her time with the program, she made a meaningful impact on our student-athletes, both on and off the court, and helped create a culture built around competitiveness, connection and confidence. We appreciate all she has done at HWS, and we wish her best in this next chapter."
 
In one season as head coach, Levenson guided William Smith to an 8-11 record, including a 3-5 mark in Liberty League play, leading the Herons to their first Liberty League Tournament appearance since 2019. She mentored six ITA Scholar-Athletes, three CSC Academic All-District selections and an All-Liberty League honorable mention singles pick in 2025-26.
 
Riskie has been a member of the HWS coaching staff since 2011 and previously led the Statesmen and Herons' tennis teams from 2021-24. Across 15 seasons, he has amassed 199 combined career tennis wins, overseeing the development of four All-Americans and 76 All-Liberty League selections.
 
William Smith tennis opens the 2026-27 season hosting the annual Mary Hosking Invitational, Sept. 12-13.
