Nick Cooke was hired as an assistant athletic trainer in August of 2008. He was promoted to coordinator of sports medicine prior to the start of the 2011-12 academic year.
 
Cooke graduated from the University of Vermont in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in nutrition and food science, and a concentration in athletic training. He went on to serve as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Purdue University, where he earned a master of science degree in administration and pedagogy in 2008. 

While with the Boilermakers, Cooke was in charge of the daily operation of the Recreational Sports Center Athletic Training facility, including budgeting and record keeping. He was responsible for covering the club teams of soccer, rugby, hockey, lacrosse, gymnastics, fencing, and baseball, and assisted with the coverage of varsity football. Cooke also served as a clinical instructor for undergraduate students in the athletic training program, and occasionally lectured in undergraduate athletic training courses and labs. 

In 2007, Cooke worked as the medical coordinator for Gatorade Sports Camps at Purdue, which included hiring and supervising 13 athletic training students, coordinating the coverage for multiple sport camps, and filing insurance claim information.

A native of Portland, Maine, Cooke is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. He currently resides in Geneva.
