On behalf of the Hobart and William Smith Athletic Departments, I would like to welcome you to the HWS Athletic Facilities.
Facilities:
Hobart and William Smith Colleges are fortunate to have two sports medicine facilities. The main facility is located in
Bristol Gymnasium, right in the heart of campus. The second facility is located in the
Elliott Varsity House, near Bristol Field House and Boswell Field. Both facilities include a taping area, treatment tables, and an ice machine.
Teams with locker room access in Bristol Gym will have access to the Bristol Athletic Training Clinic. Teams with locker room access in Elliott Varsity House will have access to a visiting team athletic training clinic across the hall from the Class of 1955 Visiting Team Room.

The host athletic trainer will provide directions as needed to medical centers.
Contest Set Up and Supplies
Visiting teams traveling without a certified athletic trainer are requested to call or
email the head athletic trainer 24 hours in advance to inform us of any special treatment/taping needs. We ask that each traveling team bring a fully stocked
medical kit in order to service the visiting athletes.
Treatments:
Ice bags and ice baths are available upon request. Modalities such as, hydrocollator packs, whirlpools, ultrasound and electric stimulation may be utilized by the certified athletic trainer traveling with the team.
IF NO CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER TRAVELS WITH THE TEAM, A WRITTEN PRESCRIPTION FROM A PHYSICIAN, OR A NOTE FROM THE ATC, MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE HWS COLLEGES ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF HEAT MODALITIES, WRAPPINGS AND TAPINGS. HWS ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF WILL NOT TREAT ANY VISITING ATHLETES WITH ELECTRIC MODALITIES.
Equipment:
Ice, plastic bags, coolers and splint kits are standard setup supplies. Crutches, slings, AED, spinal immobilization equipment are on hand for emergencies. Immediate care supplies may be loaned to visiting injured athletes when necessary.
Water:
Water is a standard setup at all events. Cups and/or bottles will not be provided to visiting teams.
EMS:
An ambulance is available as needed, and is in attendance at all varsity and junior varsity football games. For all other contests, the host athletic trainer will assist in activating EMS.
