John LaCrosse

John LaCrosse joined the Hobart Statesmen as head golf coach prior to the start of the 2010-11 season. He is a native of nearby Canandaigua, N.Y.

LaCrosse also serves as the assistant golf professional at Bristol Harbour Resort. The 18-hole premiere golf course at Bristol Harbour was designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1972. Now in his second season at Bristol Harbour, LaCrosse is involved in all aspects of the resort’s golf operations, including teaching clinics and private lessons.

LaCrosse has worked in the golf industry since 2003. He has also served as the assistant golf professional at Indian Peaks Golf Course in Lafayette, Colo., River Valley Ranch Golf Course in Carbondale, Colo., The Club at Crested Butte in Crested Butte, Colo., Lake Arrowhead Country Club in Lake Arrowhead, Calif., and Bermuda Dunes Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. The latter is one of the host courses for the Bob Hope Classic.

LaCrosse has previous coaching experience as the boy’s varsity coach at Boulder Valley High School in Lafayette, Colo. He led the Centaurs to six first place finishes, including a league championship. LaCrosse mentored two players ranked among the top 15 in the state. His top player was named the league MVP and finished eighth in the state championship.

A 1988 graduate of Cortland State, LaCrosse earned a bachelor’s degree in outdoor education and conservation.
