Bates earned three wins in Hobart's two matches last week. On Thursday, he defeated Rochester's Daniel Barbash 7-5, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. In a 6-3 win over St. Lawrence on Sunday, Bates teamed up with Sam DeLuccia to record an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles, and defeated Matt Burke 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. Overall this season, he is 6-5 in singles play and 8-3 in doubles.
