Gibbons was named the Liberty League Tournament's Most Outstanding Player after leading Hobart to its first championship since 2001. He averaged 17.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and 1.0 bpg as the Statesmen defeated Skidmore 77-72 in the semifinals and Rensselaer 72-63 in the championship. Against the Thoroughbreds, he scored 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting and a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line. Against the Engineers, Gibbons produced 17 of his 18 points and seven of his nine rebounds in the second half as Hobart rallied from a 10-point deficit to take the title.
