The Hobart College soccer team continues to hold onto the No. 19 spot in the country, according to this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) ranking. The Statesmen are also ranked third in the East Region by the NSCAA, and are 18th in the nation according to the latest D3soccer.com poll.
The Statesmen own a 7-1-2 overall record after defeating Medaille 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 29, and tying Fredonia 2-2 in double-overtime on Saturday. Sophomore
Michael Moulton led Hobart with a goal and an assist on the week. He netted the game-winner in the 98th minute vs. the Mavericks, and set up first-year
Alex Kittelberger for the second Statesmen goal against the Blue Devils. Moulton leads the team and ranks ninth in the Liberty League with nine points.
Kittelberger was tabbed the Liberty League's Co-Rookie of the Week, after tallying against Fredonia. The goal marked his third of the season.
Sophomore goalie
Charlie Hale picked up his conference-best seventh shutout of the year last week. He currently ranks third in the league in both goals against average (0.56) and saves (38).
