Hobart-Bucknell Game Notes
When the Hobart lacrosse team plays its home opener against 20th-ranked Bucknell on March 7 the Statesmen will thank their loyal fans with Fan Appreciation Day. The opening faceoff is slated for 1 p.m. on McCooey Field and all fans will be admitted free of charge.
Hobart is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2006. The Statesmen defense ranks third in the nation allowing just 5.67 goals per game thanks in part to the efforts of goalie
Max Silberlicht. The junior is third in the nation in goals against average (5.67) and sixth in save percentage (.646).
Offensively, senior attackman
Jeff Colburn has a team-high 11 points (3g, 8a). He is fifth in the nation in assists per game. Junior midfielder
Tyler Cassell is three-points behind Colburn with a team-high eight goals.
The Bison bring a 1-2 record to Geneva following an 8-7 upset of then No. 12 Navy on Feb. 28. The Bison are averaging 8.0 goals per game, while allowing 9.3. Junior attackman Austin Winter leads the team with eight assists and 10 points, while senior goalie Nick Sciubba has started all three games this season, posting a 10.4 goals against average and a .489 save percentage.
