The Hobart College squash team will start off the new year playing four matches in the 2011 Amherst/Mt. Holyoke/Smith Round Robin this weekend.
The Statesmen, selected No. 25 in the most recent College Squash Association rankings, will take on No. 19 Amherst on Friday at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, Hobart will play No. 18 Middlebury at 10:45 a.m. and No. 12 Bates at 3:15 p.m. The Statesmen will wrap up the weekend with a match against No. 27 Columbia on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Hobart (2-4) opened the 2010-11 season with an 8-1 victory over Denison in the 2010 Navy Round Robin. The Statesmen also took on No. 15 Navy and No. 9 Franklin & Marshall that weekend. Hobart started off the Liberty League Squash Tournament with a 9-0 sweep of Vassar, but then dropped matches to No. 4 Rochester and No. 14 St. Lawrence University.

Corey Kabot has played all six matches this season at the top spot. First-year
William Boyle has recorded 3-0 wins over Denison, Vassar, and Rochester at the No. 8 spot. Junior
Kevin Kent has also registered three wins this season at No. 9. Kent posted 3-0 wins against his Denison and Vassar opponents and rallied for a 3-1 win against Rochester's Bjoru Ahbel.
After this weekend, the Statesmen will compete in the 2011 Yale Round Robin, Jan. 22-23.
