Statesmen edged in Conroy Cup final

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—
The Hobart College squash team was edged 5-4 in the Conroy Cup finals by Connecticut College this afternoon. The Statesmen, ranked No. 25, wrapped up the CSA Team Championships with a 2-1 mark, and finish up the season with a 6-14 record.

Connecticut College is now 12-15 this season, and were ranked No. 26 in the country.

Senior Grant Palermo led Hobart with a 3-1 win at No. 2 for his seventh victory this season. Senior Luke Esselen also earned his seventh win of the season when he swept his Connecticut opponent in three straight games at No. 3.

Junior Kevin Kent and senior Dan Sills each secured wins at Nos. 7 and 9, respectively. Kent's 3-1 win was his 10th victory this year. Sills improved his season record to 7-5, winning by scores of 6-11, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7.
