The Hobart lacrosse team will begin a five-game homestand on Saturday, March 12, when the Bucknell Bison visit Boswell Field. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Statesmen and the Bison will meet for the 24th time today in a series that began in 1963. Hobart prevailed 15-1 in that first meeting and holds a 17-6 series lead. However, Bucknell has won three of the past four contests, including a 9-7 decision in 2010.

The Statesmen (1-3) are looking to rebound from an 11-5 loss at Binghamton on Tuesday. Junior attackman Sam Miller leads the team with eight goals and 10 points. First-year attackman Cam Stone has a team-high four assists. Junior midfielder Bobby Dattilo is off to a fast start at the X, winning 66.3 percent of his restarts and collecting a team-high 35 ground balls.

Following a 12-11 double overtime win over Navy, Bucknell brings a 3-1 record to Geneva for today's showdown. The Bison are averaging 11.25 gpg, while allowing 7.25. Bucknell began the week among the national leaders in several categories, including shooting percentage (2nd, .393), man-down defense (5th, .889), scoring margin (7th, +5.0), scoring defense (9th, 6.0 gapg), and faceoff winning percentage (10th, .610).

The five-game homestand is the Statesmen's longest since 1985. That year, Hobart played its final six games of the regular season and the first two games of the NCAA Tournament on Boswell Field.
