Hobart and William Smith will host a lacrosse doubleheader on Tuesday, March 22 on Boswell Field at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation. The William Smith Herons will take on the St. John Fisher Cardinals in the opener at 5 p.m., with the Hobart Statesmen and Canisius Golden Griffins facing off at 8 p.m. in the nightcap.

An historic meeting, Tuesday will mark the first time a William Smith team has competed on the Boz. The Herons are 2-1 following a pair of one-goal victories over No. 19 Babson and Messiah in Florida over spring break. Juniors Callie Frelinghuysen and Lucy Johnson pace the Heron attack with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Cardinals are 3-1 following a 19-17 victory over Buffalo State on Saturday. The Bengals led by three at halftime, but couldn't hold off Fisher in the second half. William Smith outlasted St. John Fisher last season 22-21.

A limited number of William Smith lacrosse “Making History” t-shirts will be given away at the game.

WHWS-FM (105.7) will air the game live, while fans outside the broadcast area can follow the action online with All-Access Video and Live Stats.

Hobart (2-4) is coming off a 5-4 victory over Bryant on Saturday. Junior attackman Sam Miller leads the offense with 12 goals and 14 points. Classmate Bobby Dattilo is one of the top faceoff men in the nation (78-44, .639) and boasts a team-high 47 ground balls. Senior goalie Evan Kirk has started every game this season and sports a .512 save percentage and a 10.25 GAA.

The Golden Griffins (0-5) are still looking for their first win of the season after suffering a 12-8 loss to Jacksonville on Saturday. Canisius defeated Hobart 8-7 in overtime last season.

The game will be televised by Time Warner Sports and will air on WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3). Outside the broadcast area, fans can track the contest online with All-Access Video and Live Stats.
