Hobart and William Smith will host another lacrosse doubleheader on Saturday, March 26 on Boswell Field at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation. The Hobart Statesmen will start off the day, facing the Fairfield Stags at noon, and the William Smith Herons will take on the Geneseo Blue Knights at 3 p.m.
Hobart (3-4) is coming off a 10-8 victory over Canisius on Tuesday, and will be playing its ECAC Lacrosse League opener. Junior
Sam Miller is leading the offense with 15 goals and 17 points. First-year
Alex Love is right behind him with eight goals and three assists this season after a four- goal and one-assist performance against the Golden Griffins. Junior
Bobby Dattilo leads the league in faceoff winning percentage (.662) and also in ground balls per game (7.86). He has picked up a team-high 55 GBs this season. Senior goalie
Evan Kirk has started every game this season and sports a .521 save percentage and a 9.91 goals against average.
The Stags come to Geneva with a 4-3 overall record, and a 1-0 mark in league play. Fairfield started off ECAC play defeating Air Force 6-4 on March 11. The Stags are coming off an 11-9 loss to Colgate last Saturday. Fairfield holds a 4-2 lead in the all-time series and came away with a victory over the Statesmen last year.

William Smith will take on Geneseo for just the second time in program history. The game is a part of the Heron Lacrosse Weekend Celebration. The Herons will dedicate the Pat Price Genovese William Smith Lacrosse Team Room on Saturday morning, and at halftime William Smith will honor the 1988, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995 William Smith lacrosse teams as Heron Teams of Distinction.
The Herons (2-2) are looking to bounce back from a 17-14 loss to St. John Fisher on Tuesday. Juniors
Lucy Johnson and
Callie Frelinghuysen are pacing the William Smith offense with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Johnson has recorded a team-high 12 goals and started off the week third in the Liberty League with 3.67 draw controls per game. Frelinghuysen and sophomore
Liz Seidel have scooped up a team-high 13 ground balls. Sophomore
Jesse Wilson has started all four games in goal and began the week leading the Liberty League in saves per game (9.33).
The Blue Knights (2-0) started off their season with wins over Sweet Briar and Wheaton (Mass.) during their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. Last year, the Herons cruised to a 21-13 win over Geneseo.
