ITHACA, N.Y.—The William Smith tennis team topped host Ithaca College 7-2 in a match played this morning. The Herons improve their record to 14-3, while the Bombers are now 10-9.
In the latest regional rankings, William Smith was voted No. 15, and Ithaca was selected No. 17.
The Herons started off winning all three doubles points. Junior
Joanie Hilton and sophomore
Kiara Ocasio earned an 8-3 victory at the top spot. It is their 10th doubles victory of the season. Junior

Katie Serock teamed up for an 8-4 win at No. 3 to improve their season record to 8-3. The duo of sophomore
Hallsey Leighton and sophomore
Remy Raevsky earned their 20th doubles win this year, cruising to an 8-1 victory at No 3.
In singles, junior
Casey Kennedy led William Smith rallying for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over the Bombers' Melanie Cohen at No. 2. She improved her singles record to 16-9. At No. 4, Hilton triumphed over Kelsey Harness 6-2, 6-2 for her 19th win this year. Senior
Melissa Slack breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5, and Raevsky posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6. Slack is now 15-5 in singles play, and Raevsky improves to 13-3.
The Herons will be back in action May 7-8, when they host the 2011 Liberty League Tournament.
