Diplomats defeat Statesmen

GENEVA, N.Y.—
The Hobart College squash team fell 9-0 to No. 8 Franklin & Marshall in a match played this afternoon at the Statesmen's Smith Squash Center.

Hobart, ranked No. 27 in the most recent College Squash Association rankings, is now 10-15 overall this season. Seven Statesmen seniors, Grant Bercari, Henry Buck, Corey Kabot, Oliver Katz, Kevin Kent, Willis Stephens and Daniel Pelaez, played the final home match of their Hobart squash careers.

Kabot started off strong at the No. 1 spot. In his first game he battled his Diplomat opponent, but was edged 12-10. He then fell 11-4 and 11-2 in his next two games. Franklin & Marshall won every match 3-0.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Feb. 11, when they travel to Clinton, N.Y., to take on Connecticut College and Hamilton at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
