The Hobart lacrosse team heads to Denver, Colo., for a showdown with the two-time defending ECAC Champion Pioneers on Saturday, March 31. The opening faceoff at Peter Barton Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. (3 p.m. ET).
This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools with the Statesmen looking for their first win. Last season, Hobart built and early 6-2 lead, but Denver rattled off nine of the next 10 goals on its way to a 15-11 victory. DU's Mark Matthews had a game-high six points (5-1) while
Tim Bigelow '11 paced the Statesmen with three goals and two assists.
The Statesmen began the week fifth in the nation in saves (13.29), sixth in faceoff percentage (.592), 14th in ground balls per game (32.14), 15th in scoring offense (11.29), and 18th in points per game (17.57).
