The Cardinals got on the scoreboard first 15:50 into the match. In attempt to clear the ball out of the box a Hobart defender knocked the ball into the back of the net to give St. John Fisher a 1-0 lead.
In the 55th minute, the Statesmen tallied the equalizer. Senior
Caetano Sanchez fired a shot on goal that was saved, but the Cardinals' keeper, Kyle Metcalfe, couldn't hang on to the ball. First-year

Neither team could break the tie through regulation. The Statesmen had a couple chances to score late in the second half, earning two corner kicks in the final four minutes, but the Cardinals held off their attempts. Hobart kept attacking through the first overtime period, recording the only shot and earning another corner, but the Statesmen still could not capitalize.
Hobart continued to control things in the second overtime, notching five shots to start the period. Sanchez had a great opportunity on a header that Fisher goalie turned away with a punch over the crossbar. The save out-of-bounds led to a Hobart corner kick with time dwindling. After the initial corner was denied, both teams fought with the ball back and forth before Kittelberger was able to send a shot to the back of the net with just 3.1 seconds remaining in the game for the win.
Sophomore
Mike Lucas played the entire match in goal for Hobart and stopped four shots. Metcalfe played the entire game in net for the Cardinals and finished with seven saves. The Statesmen enjoyed a 25-10 advantage in shots and a 6-1 lead in corner kicks.
