Hobart lacrosse wraps up regular season at Air Force

Game Notes | WEOS-FM | Live Stats | Live Video

The Hobart College lacrosse team will close out the 2013 regular season at Air Force on Saturday, April 27. Faceoff at Cadet Lacrosse Stadium is scheduled for noon (2 p.m. ET).

The Statesmen hold a 3-1 series lead over the Falcons, but their lone loss was at Air Force in 2011 by a 9-6 count. Both teams have been eliminated from the ECAC Lacrosse league hunt, but Hobart (6-7, 2-4) is looking to even its record to match its best record since 2009 and to move into a tie for fifth place in the league standings.

Junior attackman Alex Love is the nation's leading goal scorer with 45 tallies this year. The most goals ever scored by a Division I Statesmen, his total ranks 21st in the history of Hobart lacrosse. If he duplicates his four-goal effort against the Falcons in 2012, Love would finish 10th on Hobart's season goal list, the first Statesman to reach that level since 1990. Love needs two goals to become the second Hobart player to hit the 100-goal milestone in Division I, joining Daryl Veltman '08 (109 career goals). Love also need three points to match Mark Williamson's Division I season record (56 in 2004).

Junior attackman Cam Stone is also closing in on a career milestone. He enters the contest with 99 career points. Since 1995, only nine Statesmen have recorded 100 career points. The ECAC assists co-leader has 60 career helpers, fifth on Hobart's Division I list, one behind No. 4 Chris Pedersen '12 and three shy of No. 3 Jamie Kirk '08.

On the defensive end of the field, senior defensemen Reid Rosello and Sean Regan will put the finishing touch on their record-setting year. Rosello has a Hobart season record 24 caused turnovers this year with Regan close behind at 21. Regan eclipsed the Statesmen career record during a win over Michigan earlier this year.

Air Force is 6-7 overall and 1-5 in the ECAC. The Falcons are producing 10.23 goals per game and allowing 9.54. Junior attackman Mike Compton leads the team with 31 goals and 49 points. Senior goalie Austin Fox is 6-6 with a 9.61 goals against average and a .530 save percentage.

WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3 in Geneva) will broadcast the game live. Fans can also follow the action online with Live Stats and streaming video.
