The Hobart College squash team begins the 2014-15 season at the Navy Round Robin this weekend in Annapolis, Maryland. The Statesmen will take on Navy and Stanford on Saturday, Nov. 15, and then play Virginia and George Washington on Sunday, Nov. 16.

Head Coach
Tim Riskie begins his fourth season at the helm of the Hobart squash program. He welcomes back nine experienced athletes from last year while adding five talented first-years to the squad.

Senior
McGee O'Neil is back after playing in 19 of 20 matches last season. He will look to provide leadership and depth for a young team. O'Neil went 9-10 last season playing a majority of his matches at No.5 and No.6.

Juniors
Danny Cabrera and
Michael Woods will serve as team captains for the Statesmen this season and will look to provide not only leadership but experience as well. Cabrera finished 2013-14 with an 8-12 overall record including a 7-5 record at the No. 5 spot. Woods played in 14 matches last season in the No. 5-8 spots.

The Statesmen return six sophomores,
Scott Marcus,
Art Martella,
Beau Orchard,
Felipe Pantle,
Krittapat Pranich and
Ben Shapiro. Martella and Marcus played in all 20 matches last year posting 11-9 and 8-12 records, respectively. Orchard played in 18 matches a season ago posting a 10-8 record. He spent time playing at the No. 2-6 spots. Pantle registered a 7-12 record playing in the No. 1-3 spots. Pranich and Shapiro saw limited action in their first-year competing in seven and four matches, respectively.

On Saturday, Hobart will take on Navy at noon and then play Stanford at 5 p.m. Sunday the Statesmen will take on Virginia at 9:30 a.m. and followed by George Washington at noon.

Following the Navy Round Robin, the Statesmen will travel to Pughkeepsie, New York, for the 2014 Liberty League Tournament Nov. 22-23. Hobart will close out the 2014 portion of the schedule with matches on Dec. 6, against Colgate and Bucknell.Â
