ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Hobart College squash team split their matches on day 2 of the Navy Round Robin. The Statesmen beat Virginia 8-1 before falling to George Washington 1-8 later in the day.

In the first match, Hobart (2-2) picked up a hard fought victory against Virginia. Sophomore
Beau Orchard logged an 11-3, 11-4, 11-0 victory at the No. 2 spot. First-year
Greg Dolente bested his opponent 11-3, 3-11, 11-8, 10-12, 12-10. Fellow first-years
Divine Wing,
Jack Shannon and
James Pierpont earned 3-1 victories at No.4 (6-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-7), No. 5 (6-11, 11-7, 13-11, 11-4) and No. 6 (11-3, 11-3, 11-13, 11-5) respectively. At the No.7 spot, junior
Danny Cabrera notched a 7-11, 12-10, 11-2, 14-12 victory. Sophomore
Scott Marcus won at No. 8 (9-11, 12-10, 11-0, 9-11, 11-8). Sophomore
Krittapat Pranich added a victory at No. 9 (11-4, 11-4, 11-3).

Against George Washington, Pranich tallied his second win of the day 11-4, 11-3, 11-7 at No. 9. Marcus put up a good fight at No. 8 but fell 18-16, 10-12, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5.

Hobart will be back in action on Nov. 22-23 when they compete in the 2014 Liberty League Men's Squash Championship in Poughkeepsie, New York. Hobart will face Rochester and St. Lawrence on Saturday and then Bard and Vassar on Sunday.
