Richie Bonney and
Joe Gibbons reached career milestones, but St. Lawrence University dampened the celebration with a 73-62 Liberty League men's basketball win in Bristol Gym today. Gibbons, who played just 21 minutes due to foul trouble, notched just four points, but it raised his 3-year Statesmen career total to 1,001, making him the 26th player to score 1,000 career points at Hobart.

The Statesmen kept the lead through the first 10 minutes of the second half, but could extend their advantage to more than six, taking a 40-34 lead on a Rehbaum layup at the 15:52 mark.
Â
The Saints took their first lead of the second half, 50-49, when Condlin buried a 3 at 8:43. Hobart remained in contention to keep its school record home court winning streak alive as a Hoy 3-pointer at 6:29 put the Statesmen up 58-55, but SLU seized the momentum with 10 straight points to build a 65-58 lead with 74 seconds left. Kobis notched seven points in the decisive swing.
Â
A Bonney layup set up by Blanding made it a five-point game at 1:06, but St. Lawrence made all eight of its free throw attempts in the final minute to score the upset.
